Role

Iain joined the Nottingham Business School in 2022 as a Senior Lecturer in Personalisation and Experiential Learning (PEL) and is Assistant Course Leader for Level 4 BA Business. He teaches across the undergraduate PEL modules and is a Foundation Year and Level 4 Course Tutor. Iain leads the Applied Professional Development module, a Level 5 course completed by all undergraduate students at NBS. A central component of this module is the Future of Work Conference, an event featuring over 70 speakers who deliver 80 sessions to approximately 1,500 students. The conference is designed to support students’ future decision-making and enhance their employability. Additionally, Iain leads the Essentials of Business Development module, a Level 4 module taught to over 800 students across the Business School.

Iain holds an MA in Education from Nottingham Trent University and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Career overview

Prior to joining NBS Iain has over 20 years experience of teaching Business Studies in a range of secondary schools, with over seven years in senior leadership roles primarily focused on curriculum development and leadership. He has extensive experience as a Senior Reviewer for exam boards, with a focus and expertise in vocational education. Iain also previously worked at the Nottingham Institute of Education as Placement and Engagement Manager and additionally taught on the PGCE and Schools Direct Business Education programmes.
