Role

Lino Trinchini is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing. In his current role, Lino teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate (master) modules including Innovation in Marketing (module leader & tutor), Applied Business Research Projects (tutor), Principles of Marketing (tutor), Creativity in Product Innovation (module leader and tutor), Strategic Global Marketing (tutor), Contemporary Perspectives in Customer Engagement (tutor) Customer Insights & Marketing Research (tutor). As academic mentor and course tutor, he also contributes to level 6 undergraduate students and master student pastoral care. He also supervises Consultancy Experience Projects at master level.

Career overview

Lino has previous extensive professional experience in the wireless industry at international level. Before joining NTU in 2023, he was assistant lecturer in tourism strategic management teaching undergraduate (level 6) and master students at Manchester Metropolitan University. He was also lecturer in strategy and lecturer in tourism at University of Central Lancashire in Preston (England) supervising and teaching undergraduate, postgraduate (MSc, MBA) and doctoral students on international strategic management, research methodologies (qualitative, quantitative), tourism sustainability and digital tourism modules. Lino is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Lino holds a BSc in Communication Science & Technology (Sapienza University, Rome), MSc in Economics of Tourism (Bocconi University, Milan), MBA degree (Nottingham Trent University) and a PhD in smart destinations (Manchester Metropolitan University).

Research areas

Lino’s research interests lie in the role played by digital technologies in society, business and management, not limited to their impact on tourism and more recently the ethical, philosophical and sustainable implications.

External activity

Lino has contributed to webinars and conferences as speaker discussing the role of technologies (including AI), in addition to his activity of reviewer for several academic journals and articles related but not limited to smart tourism, smart cities, information systems, digital sustainability and tourism development.
