Role

I am a senior lecturer at Nottingham Law School and teach predominately on the LLM LPC course. I am Deputy Course Leader for the part time LLM LPC and also module lead the LLM project and dissertation modules on both full and part time programmes. I am an experienced practitioner in family and child protection, and also co-lead this module on the LLM LPC.  I hold a current practising certificate and am a supervising solicitor in the Legal Advice Centre. I provide advice to clients on family matters and support students in their legal training in the Centre. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.

Career overview

Prior to joining NTU I practised as a solicitor at a Legal 500 firm in London, providing specialist family law and litigation advice. I am an experienced advocate, having regularly appeared in London’s family courts.

Research areas

I currently a co-editor of the practitioner’s text, Children Law and Practice, Hershman and McFarlane.

External activity

I am a member of Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers committed to providing a non-confrontational, conciliatory approach to family matters.
