NTU Sport

Sophie is Sports Coordinator for competitions at NTU responsible for coordinating the delivery of NTU's participation in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) across all sports, along with other competitions such as Local and National Leagues. This includes organising NTU's weekly fixture programme, logistics for individual events and ensuring NTU Sport is compliant with all BUCS and NGB regulations. Sophie also manages transport for the department and is responsible for all NTU Match Official recruitment and appointments.

Role

Having been at NTU since 2019, Sophie has managed the operational side of the BUCS and competitions programme at NTU Sport through our breakthrough in to the top 10 institutions for sport. Her role includes ensuring that NTU Sport is compliant with all BUCS regulations, organising travel and match official requirements for fixtures, overseeing the process of entries into events, producing weekly reports on our results and being the main point of contact with other institutions and BUCS. Sophie is also the Clean Sport Lead for NTU Sport, working in conjunction with UKAD to deliver education to our athletes, as well as being one of our Performance Lifestyle practitioners.

Career overview

Sophie graduated from Leeds University in 2016 after studying Sport and Exercise Science, then spent 3 years working in the Performance Pathway at British Triathlon before joining NTU.

External activity

Sophie is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the BUCS East Midlands Regional Committee, the group which brings all institutions within the region together to contribute towards shaping the sporting offer at a regional and national level.
