The Nottingham Institute of Education at Nottingham Trent University is one of the foremost providers of education and training for teachers and other learning and development professionals. Our courses and research span all phases of learning and development, from the early years through to adult education.

Who we are
We have developed hundreds of partnerships’ with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and other educational settings across the East Midlands and beyond. Our latest Ofsted inspection praised these partnerships, recognising the strength of our links and the range of specialist placements for trainees, giving them access to high quality training.
Our links with our partners and our broad range of expertise enable us to develop and support our students at every level, through undergraduate degrees, postgraduate training and qualification, Masters degrees including doctorates, and continuing professional development (CPD) and leadership development for in-post educators.
We have a growing international reputation, but we have not lost touch locally; our staff work regularly with educational settings across the Midlands and further afield, helping to improve practice, raise standards and change lives.
About the Nottingham Institute of Education
The Nottingham Institute of Education is situated on our redeveloped Clifton campus, and brings together our teacher training and education-related teams into a centre of excellence and innovation.
The wealth of experience gained over the past six decades has enabled us to create a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses offering students the opportunity to train to be teachers or study education in its widest context.
With an emphasis on experiential learning and applied and meaningful research we can ensure our trainees have the firm foundation needed to lead their field throughout their career.
