The Natural Sciences Research Facility is based in the Centre for Effective Learning in Science (CELS) building at Clifton Campus.

It supports research in a wide range of scientific fields, including physics, biosciences, chemistry, imaging, materials, and sports performance.

The facility is equipped with modern labs and advanced tools for postgraduate research, covering everything from radiology and astrophysics to oceanography and archaeology. It plays a crucial role in enabling the School of Science and Technology to collaborate with top research centres around the world.

The facility provides specialized labs and office spaces for researchers and students, creating an environment that encourages innovation and collaboration.

We also have research-grade FTIR instruments for precise material analysis, and advanced facilities for microbial genomics research, including a microarray facility, Roche 480 light cycler, and a high-performance computing suite for genome sequence data analysis.
