More about Tai-Li

Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

My employer offered me the chance to continue my architectural education through the apprenticeship scheme. As I had been attending the PCiA course at NTU I got to find out more about the course and what it entailed from the course leader. Further conversations with senior students solidified my decision to pursue my studies at NTU, as I found the modules and overall program highly appealing.

What do you think about the course staff? How do they support your learning and university experience?

The course staff have been instrumental in supporting my learning and university experience through personalised one-to-one tutorials, insightful group sessions, and progress reviews conducted in our workplace. Their guidance ensures I stay on track and maximises my potential as an apprentice.

Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?

Compared to other universities where students may attend only one day or engage in block study, the structure at NTU, with two days on campus, fosters a stronger sense of community and allows for smoother progression in our studies, as we appreciate the dedicated time for learning without having to ‘stop and start’.

How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words  or fewer?

Dynamic learning, lively community, endless opportunities in great city campus.

Outside of the Lecture Theatre…

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU?

Yes, fortunately everyone on the course is friendly and we all decided to get to know each other on the induction day. We all like to celebrate after we have successfully submitted after a deadline.

How is NTU helping you to achieve your career goals?

Ultimately, my goal is to become a qualified architect through NTU's Level 7 Architecture apprenticeship. This course will provide me with a comprehensive education by combining theoretical learning with practical, on-the-job experience.

By continuously developing my skills through this apprenticeship, I have been able to gain a deeper understanding in the workplace and immediately apply my newfound knowledge and skills. Through this cohesive approach, I am confident that I will achieve my goal of becoming a successful architect.
