More about Jay
Hi. I'm Jason. I'm a mature student here studying graphic design at NTU. My major project this year is a whiskey brand called Koranga, and the story behind it is this community in Siberia who are reindeer herders and the reindeer would go out into the forest and they'd forage for, Amanita muscaria mushrooms. But the shaman of this community would drink the urine of the reindeer to have like a spiritual journey, and they would sort of help their community out in that way. So, I have branded that basically and called it Koranga, and I've stayed really true to the aesthetics and the story of that. I'm really, really proud of the research that I did for it.
I've always known that I wanted to be a creative, but being at NTU has really helped me tap into that creative flow and helped me connect with people. It's just helped me realize how resilient I can be and how being creative is such a superpower.
So, my aspirations for the future are definitely getting to a career now. Being a mature student, I've taken a big sacrifice to try and to come to uni and to educate myself.
I just felt like a certain dissatisfaction with my life. You know, I was doing different jobs and always feeling like there was something more that I could sort of bring to the table and something more that I could do for myself. So now coming up to the end of my degree, I do feel like it's all been worth it. I've learned a lot about myself, and I've learned a lot about the creative world.
Yeah. I just feel like I'm ready to take it on. I'm ready to sort of go to what's next and put all my effort into it really. So, I can just come out at the end of it just knowing I've done my best.
