More about Liam

What made you choose to study at NTU?
“I chose to study here as NTU stood out from every other university I visited. The facilities here are amazing - the print room is industry standard and that caught my eye as I knew I wanted to specialise in that area.”

What do you enjoy most about the course?
“What I enjoy most about the course is that we are taught all specialisms of Textile Design. As well as developing our practical skills, we also have workshops in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which augment our designs to a level that would be expected in industry. Interdisciplinary practice is encouraged on the course which helps you to become a versatile designer.”

How do you find the course staff?
“We are very lucky to have such industry experienced staff here at NTU – they couldn’t be more helpful. There are technicians within each discipline who are full of knowledge. You can take any idea you have to them and they'll help you with it.”

What do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“NTU’s city campus is a very aesthetically pleasing one which makes studying here nice, and of course it’s right in the heart of the city.

“Nottingham is a very diverse place to live, it’s not a huge city which making it less daunting when moving away from home. The city has everything you need within a small vicinity. The music and nightlife scene is one of the best in the country by far - Nottingham is a very underrated city!”

Why would you recommend your course?
“I would recommend BA (Hons) Textile Design because you have the opportunity to explore all disciplines which really helps you to get an insight into what your future could be as a designer. You’re pushed by the tutors to be as ambitious and expressive as you can which helps you reach your full potential. As a student here you’re very lucky to have access to industry-standard of facilities.
