What has stood out about Nottingham Business School (NBS)?
What has really stood out about NBS is the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The lecturers are not only knowledgeable but also bring valuable industry experience, making learning both enjoyable and insightful. The diverse mix of students brings a wealth of perspectives, enriching our discussions and group projects.
How have you found the course facilities and have they helped you?
The facilities at NBS have been fantastic. The new Postgraduate Centre at Belgrave has modern classrooms and well-equipped computer rooms have made it easier to tackle complex assignments and projects. The resources available have been a great help in understanding and applying the concepts we learned in class.
What is your favourite thing about your course?
My favourite thing about the course is the combination of management and business analytics. I love how it gives me a well-rounded understanding of business strategies while also equipping me with valuable data analysis skills. The hands-on projects and interactive teaching methods make the learning process engaging and practical.
Have you done a placement as part of the course?
Not yet; I am still seeking a role. The employability team and Hannah - the Postgraduate Placement Coordinator - is super helpful and supportive during this process.
How have you found Nottingham as a student city?
Nottingham has been a wonderful city to live in as a student. It has a vibrant and lively student life with plenty of activities. The city is very student-friendly, with affordable options and excellent public transport.
Has it been easy making new friends?
Yes, making new friends has been easy, but it requires a bit of effort and willingness to step out of your comfort zone. Pushing yourself to approach people, whether it’s starting a conversation in the enrolment line or joining a club, can make a huge difference. Remember, your best friend was once a stranger. The university offers so many opportunities to meet new people and build meaningful connections.
Have you felt supported through your studies?
Yes, I have felt very supported throughout my studies. I’ve used the Employability team, Student Support services, mentors, course staff, and the Global Lounge. These resources have been invaluable, offering guidance, academic help, and career advice. This support has made my academic journey smooth and enriching.
What is next for you after NTU?
After NTU, I plan to pursue a career in business analytics. I’m excited to apply the skills and knowledge I’ve gained to make data-driven decisions in the business world.
Why did you want to study in the UK?
I wanted to study in the UK because of its excellent education system, diverse culture, and the chance to gain an international perspective on business practices. I completed my undergraduate studies in Northampton, which provided a solid foundation and a great learning experience. After graduating, I gained work experience in London in the rail industry, which sparked my interest in furthering my education. This professional exposure highlighted the importance of advanced skills in management and business analytics, leading me to pursue a master’s degree.
Is NTU a good place for international students to study?
Yes, NTU is a fantastic place for international students. The university offers great support services, a welcoming community, and many opportunities for cultural exchange and personal growth.
