Why did you choose NTU and this course?
As a finance graduate, I am keen to pursue the MSc in Management & International Business at NTU to elevate my career in senior management. Motivated by the dynamic shifts in the global business landscape, I aim to develop innovative and sustainable strategies to meet worldwide needs.
My passion for global business was ignited through interactions with international teams, witnessing sophisticated supply chain operations and leadership dynamics. NTU's renowned business education and its emphasis on practical, international learning experiences made it an ideal choice for me. The program's focus on strategic and managerial skill development aligns perfectly with my career goals, preparing me for effective leadership in a globalized business environment.
What has stood out about NBS (Nottingham Business School)?
For me, NBS has stood out for its innovative approach to teaching and its commitment to sustainability and responsible management. From the time I have joined NBS (Jan 2024), the support received from the team is commendable. The school's active engagement with the business community and its global connections provides an enriching learning environment that prepares students for real-world challenges.
How have you found the course facilities, and have they helped you?
The facilities at NTU are state-of-the-art, from high-tech classrooms to comprehensive digital resources. These facilities have greatly enhanced my learning experience, providing a comfortable and effective environment for both study and collaboration. NTU’s Library has access to numerous ranges of academic resources are of great help for students to refer and research about their courses. Also, not to leave behind, the student support team and student mentors guide you through out to make you better every single day.
What is the favourite thing about your course?
My favourite aspect of the course is the interactive learning environment. I enjoy the dynamic classroom discussions and the practical projects that allow us to apply theoretical knowledge to real business problems. This hands-on approach has deepened my understanding and engagement with the material.
Undoubtedly, the fellow students from diverse background with different exposures to respective industry experiences from their past learnings makes the course interesting to me.
Have you taken part in academic mentoring? What has that involved?
Yes, I have participated in academic mentoring and there are few more meetings coming up, where I was paired with my student mentor Ms. Belinda Nuttall, who has guided me through both academic and professional challenges. This relationship has been invaluable, providing me with insights into the industry and helping me refine my career goals.
The way she patiently listens until I finish and then respond to all my queries has supported me in a much better way to improve myself in all aspects.
How have you found Nottingham as a student city?
Nottingham is a vibrant student city with a rich history and a lively cultural scene. It offers a friendly atmosphere with plenty of activities and events, which makes it an ideal place for student life. Everything you need for leading a comfortable student life, is available in Nottingham.
Students from different countries, cross culture events, community events and celebrations make it easy for students to network better.
Has it been easy making new friends?
Absolutely! The diverse student community at NTU has made it easy to meet people and make new friends. The university organizes various social events and clubs that have helped me connect with students from around the world.
To emphasize, it is not just at NTU but even outside people are friendly and helpful. The way they greet you makes you feel more comfortable to have a extended circle of friends.
Have you felt supported through your studies?
NTU offers excellent support systems, from the Employability team to Student Support services. I have used these resources extensively, and they have significantly aided my academic and personal development. The staff are incredibly supportive, and the guidance provided has been crucial to my success.
Amidst all, what caught my attention was the library learning resources. I had one-on-one with Katherine Rodriguez, Academic Skills Tutor, the way she handled my queries and resolved my questions was very insightful and I can’t thank her enough.
What is next for you after NTU?
After completing my course at NTU, I plan to pursue a career in international business management which mostly involves Strategic Operations and Project Exposure, where I can apply my skills in a global context.
I am also considering further studies, possibly a PhD in the stream related to my masters, to deepen my expertise in international business strategies.
Why did you want to study in the UK?
I chose to study in the UK because of its educational excellence and the unique opportunity to engage with a diverse international community. The UK's educational system offers a depth of knowledge and a broad perspective on global business practices that are essential for my professional growth.
Is NTU a good place for international students to study?
My experience so far at NTU has been wonderful. NTU is an excellent choice for international students. It offers a welcoming community, extensive support services, and a global alumni network.
The student scholarships provided here helps a lot of students to pursue their long-term dreams. The university's focus on employability and international perspectives makes it particularly appealing for students from abroad.
