What made you decide to study at NTU?

I wanted to stay in Nottingham and study at my local university. I had heard a lot of really positive things about NTU as both of my brothers came to NTU.

What has been the best thing about your course so far?

The labs at NTU are exceptional. In my first and second year I had access to the analytical labs, and it prepared me so much for my year placement in industry.

Where did you do your placement year?

I went to work at Syensqo which is a company that develops advanced solutions for many sectors and is located in Derby. It was a fantastic year of working in industry and gaining work experience.

I worked on a couple of independent projects and a handful of team projects. I learnt a wide range of new skills most notably my communication improved massively during my placement. I was awarded a first for my placement.

Have you joined any societies/clubs at NTU?

I joined the Thai boxing club in my first year when I started at NTU. This has given me good stress relief and is good to get involved in something outside of my studies. I now do MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) boxing which I really enjoy and it is great to socialise with others. I believe doing a sport has had a positive impact on not only my mental health but my academic performance as well.

What do you want to do after graduation? 

I would like to start working. After my placement I am eager to get back into the workplace and start progressing my career. I know that there is so much more for me to learn and skills for me to refine and master. This excites me and I am eager to continue learning.
