The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019, published in February 2019, meant that Nottingham Trent University (NTU) soared ahead of Manchester School of Art at the Manchester Metropolitan University, Birmingham City University, University of Leeds, and Falmouth University.

Michael Marsden, Dean of the School of Art & Design, commented: "NTU has long been recognised for its first-class delivery of higher education in art and design subjects. This is reflected in our domestic league table rankings, and our envious rates of student employment.

“Our improved position reaffirms this view internationally and we are delighted with this recognition, placing us in our highest ever position.”

He continued: “It also reflects the unwavering dedication and professionalism of our staff and our excellent facilities, both of which contribute to NTU producing some of the world's most talented artists and designers.”

NTU’s School of Art & Design is a well-established, internationally renowned and creative higher education provider with a thriving, multicultural community of over 2,500 students. Alumni of the School include Dame Laura Knight, Jon Burgerman and Simon Starling, as well as director Jonathan Glazer and All Saints founder Stuart Trevor.
