The two week showcase celebrates the emerging talent of design graduates across the UK. This annual celebration showcases over 3,000 designs from more than 100 university courses, spanning disciplines such as Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial and Spatial Design, Graphic Design, Illustration and Animation, Motion Art, Digital Art, and Game Design.

NTU's Product Design department achieved outstanding success and garnered significant acclaim for its innovative designs across its courses: BA (Hons) Product Design, BSc (Hons) Product Design, and BA (Hons) Furniture and Product Design. Throughout the event, designs were honoured with prestigious awards such as the New Designers Awards, Associate Prize Awards, Loves and Likes from leading organisations nationwide.

Hugo Matthew, Winner Of The Unilever: Dove Sustainable Beauty Innovation Award, commented, "I was generally just really happy to be showing my project at new designers and getting to talk to people about it, everyone seemed really interested, especially those with a background in wool."

Sam Russell, Winner of The SeymourPowell Award, added, "I am honoured to have been awarded the SeymourPowell 'Shape the Future' award at New Designers. My goal was to demonstrate that inclusive products can look great while remaining affordable, and I am thrilled that a company like SeymourPowell recognised my efforts."

Amelia Pegrum, Winner Of The JDD Prize For Elegance & Design, shared, "New designers was really great to get face to face with industry and to meet other students from similar courses. I enjoyed it lots; it was a really cool way to round off my uni experience, and hopefully will help me to get jobs!"

Eva Ellis, Winner Of The Boss Furniture Design Prize, stated, “Having the privilege to exhibit my work and discuss my project with industry professionals at New Designers has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Mia Sgambati, winner of the Teknion New Furniture Designer of the Year

Fiona Davidson, Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Furniture and Product Design course, shared,“To win a single prize at New Designers in any year is an achievement. For four different students from the same course to win four prestigious furniture awards from the likes of Habitat, Boss, Teknion and JDD Designs is testament to the diversity of work on show. Even more gratifying were the positive comments, likes and loves from industry and public alike,  commending the excellent quality and breadth of all the work on show across our stand.

Our students are not afraid to tackle  prescient design issues facing the planet and society as a whole, and that makes me immensely proud and optimistic for the future.“
