An analysis by The Times places NTU among the UK's top universities, ranking 16th overall.

The NSS asks questions across a number of themes, including teaching, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources and student voice.

The university scored above the sector average on all seven themes and was in the top 25% of universities for four themes (assessment and feedback, organisation and management, learning opportunities and academic support).

The results show:

  • 89% of students are happy with the teaching on their course
  • 90% of students gave positive feedback on their academic support
  • 90% felt positively about their learning resources
  • 91% of students said that freedom of expression was respected
  • 87% praised the learning opportunities available
  • 88% responded positively to questions about assessment and feedback.

Almost three-quarters of undergraduate students at NTU (73%) participated in this year’s survey.

Student feedback helps prospective students make informed decisions about where to study, while the results help universities and colleges enhance the overall student experience.

Jane McNeil,  Pro Vice-Chancellor – Education at Nottingham Trent University, said: “This is another great set of results for NTU. At a time when satisfaction has increased across the sector, maintaining our lead over the sector average is a significant achievement. It reflects the sustained commitment, care and professionalism of colleagues across the university.”
