The move represents the next chapter in a long-established relationship. Access Creative College has worked in partnership with Confetti for the past decade, delivering further education provision at the College, and will continue to work closely with NTU as Confetti enters its next phase of growth.
Access Creative College is the UK’s largest national specialist independent training provider, with 30 years of experience educating and preparing young people for careers across the creative industries. Through Access Creative College and its wider education group, it delivers specialist education across the country in areas including music, games, media, computing and the creative industries.
Quality will remain at the heart of the partnership. Access Creative’s most recent Ofsted inspection encompassed provision across both Access Creative College and Confetti College, providing independent recognition of the quality of education being delivered through the existing partnership and creating a strong foundation for its next chapter.
Confetti was established in Nottingham in 1994 with just six students and has since developed into a leading creative industry education provider with deep roots in the city. Under Access Creative College’s management, the ambition is to build on that legacy rather than change what makes Confetti distinctive. Plans include developing new and innovative courses and strengthening Confetti’s presence within Nottingham and its surrounding communities. Together, these ambitions are designed to create more opportunities for young people to access high-quality, industry-focused creative education and help Nottingham remain competitive within one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.
Jason Beaumont, CEO of Access Education Group, said: “We are incredibly excited about the next chapter for Confetti College. Access Creative College has worked closely with Confetti for the past 10 years, so for us this is a natural evolution of an established and successful relationship. We know the College, we understand what makes it special and, most importantly, we share the same passion for high-quality, industry-led creative education and creating opportunities for young people.
“We’re also delighted that our relationship with NTU will continue. By working together, we can protect the strength of the learner experience while maintaining clear opportunities for students who want to progress into higher education and ultimately into the creative industries.
“This is about building on strong foundations rather than changing what makes Confetti special, and I’m really looking forward to meeting more of the Confetti community over the coming weeks. What has always stood out to us about Confetti is its people – an incredibly talented, committed and passionate team who care deeply about their students, their industries and the role Confetti plays within Nottingham’s creative community. We’re excited to work alongside them, support their ambitions and build the next chapter of Confetti together.”
Professor Michael Marsden, Executive Dean of the Nottingham School of Art & Design at Nottingham Trent University, said: “For more than 10 years, our partnership with Access Creative College has enabled Confetti alumni to ‘do it for real’ – with many leading industry figures in the fields of gaming, music and film sectors having a Confetti qualification under their belt.
“We are excited by Access Creative’s vision to build on Confetti College’s success to secure future FE provision in creative technologies in Nottingham for generations to come.”
NTU will continue to work closely with Access Creative throughout this period of transition to ensure a strong learner experience is maintained and to offer a clear route into higher education for those students who wish to continue their studies in the creative technologies sectors.
The transition will bring together Confetti’s established identity, facilities, industry connections and place within Nottingham’s creative community with Access Creative’s national scale, specialist expertise and three decades of experience in creative education.
Both organisations are committed to ensuring the transition is positive for students, staff and partners, while creating a platform for Confetti College to grow, innovate and continue playing an important role in Nottingham’s creative future.
