Introduction:
Chemistry is the stuff of life. Chemists are vital to our economy and the health of our planet. Chemists discover drugs that cure disease, invent products that help the environment, and develop techniques that solve crime. Chemistry is an exciting and diverse science, and if you are passionate about making a difference, then this is the course for you.
NTU chemistry courses are recognised by the Royal Society of Chemistry. This accreditation is our assurance that our courses are relevant to, and valued by, industry. You will regularly be working in a professional laboratory, using the most advanced techniques, so that when you graduate you will already have many of the skills employers are looking for.
The course gives you real flexibility too. You can opt to spend one year working in industry, getting valuable work experience that can help you get a job when you graduate. You can also choose to follow a specialist route, depending on your own personal passions.

What our students say
"I was particularly excited to have the opportunity of a year’s placement, to experience work in industry, make some money, and see if it was something I wanted to do in the future. The academic staff were very supportive in helping me to find and secure a placement. This included providing mock interview sessions and CV writing tips.
"During the degree, I considered teaching as a possible career. However, after the experience of working in industry and working with developing areas of chemistry in the final year, I have begun to pursue a career in analytical chemistry."
