Laura Pinkney, Head of Department

Laura, a Legal 500 solicitor, joined the Centre in January 2019 and is responsible for the day to day management of the Centre.

Mathew Game, Solicitor

Mat leads the Centre’s Employment Law Service and supervises cases on a large range of employment related matters, both contentious and non-contentious work. Mat supervises students doing employment tribunal work with Free Representation Unit Nottingham. He also works with a number of employers in drafting their employment handbooks and provides seminar updates for SME’s and charities. Mat is part of the Centre’s operational management team and contributes to the development and training of students who work with us as part of credit-bearing modules. Mat joined the Centre in 2016 and was previously a solicitor in private practice.

Callum Scott, Supervising Caseworker

Callum oversees the Welfare Benefits and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities services at the Centre. Callum also supervises student representatives in Social Security appeals, undertaken through the Nottingham branch of the Free Representation Unit (FRU) which operates from the Centre.

Carlota supports the Head of the Legal Advice Centre on the development and delivery of the Centre’s strategic and operational plans with responsibility for the leadership and management of the administrative resources within the Centre.

Melissa Bailey, Administrator

Melissa is responsible for the effective administration and organisation of the designated administrative functions of the Centre, providing frontline support to Centre staff, NLS Academic staff, students and other internal and external stakeholders.
