Results day checklist
Step 1: check and accept your Clearing offer
To confirm your university place, you must log in to UCAS and add the new course as your Clearing choice. You can do this from 1 pm on results day, and you should accept your offer within 48 hours, as places fill up quickly.
First, take a few minutes to look over your offer email to:
- check your course and personal details are correct
- read the terms and conditions
- upload additional documents where required (e.g. portfolios or certificates).
Your offer is based on the information in your UCAS application, so if anything looks incorrect, call us as soon as possible on +44 (0)115 848 6000 to avoid delays.
You can also call us if you have any issues adding us as your Clearing choice, or if you need to request an extension.
Checks and confirmation
Once you accept, our Admissions team will check your results and confirm your place on UCAS. You're now officially coming to NTU!
It may take up to 72 hours to hear back from us - we process thousands of applications during Clearing, so it's normal if you don’t hear back right away. Your place at NTU is secure.
You’ll receive a confirmation email once everything's verified, which will also include some useful advice on starting at NTU, including how to enrol.

Once you accept your Clearing offer, you'll receive a link to confirm your preferred accommodation choice in your offer verification email. If you're planning on living at home while studying, you can skip this step.
First-year students are guaranteed accommodation in Nottingham, but popular residences fill up fast. Visit our student accommodation pages to explore the NTU and private accommodation options available across a range of budgets.
Consider what you need from your accommodation and what you can afford, such as proximity to campus, accessibility requirements, and whether you’re comfortable with shared facilities or want to pay extra for a studio space.
Step 3: arrange your student finance
Student loans for UK home students
If you've already applied for funding but change your course choice or university during Clearing, you'll need to update your details.
If you haven't yet applied for student finance, you'll need to do so immediately after accepting your Clearing place. Your funds may not arrive by the start of term, so make sure you have enough money to cover your expenses until your funds are paid.

Preparing for independent living
Living on your own can be a great new experience, but it can also be challenging. It's a steep learning process, but the skills and experience you're about to acquire will set you up for life.

Yes, but please be mindful that if you decline an offer, it will no longer be available. Make sure it's really what you want before you make that call. You can also defer your offer for a year if you feel you need more time.

You'll receive details in an email on how to enrol once you've accepted your offer. Please allow up to 72 hours after accepting your offer to receive this email.
Your earliest move-in date will be shown in your accommodation licence agreement. For most students, this will be the weekend before Welcome. We'll email you before arrival with details of how to book your move-in slot.

Don't worry. If you've applied for student finance but it's still being processed when your course starts, you'll still be able to begin your studies as normal. Your enrolment may remain "in progress" while funding is confirmed, and we'll keep you updated if we need any further information.
It's a good idea to bring enough money to cover your living costs for the first few weeks, as maintenance payments can sometimes be delayed.
