About this course

Encountering ethical risks is an unavoidable part of leadership in any organisation. To successfully solve these complex organisational problems, you need to know how to leverage your values rather than compromise them.

On this microcredential, you’ll learn how to take a values-driven approach to effectively solve ethical risks, hone crucial leadership skills, and build ethical organisational culture. Work through engaging modules at your own pace, start any time and choose from one of three assessment hand-in dates over the academic year.

Guided by experts, you’ll be able to advance in your leadership career as you learn how to lead in a systemic way. What’s more, you’ll also receive an accreditation to certify your values-based leadership abilities.

On completion of this microcredential, you will:

  • Learn how to prioritise stakeholders and promote ethical decision-making
  • Discover leadership theories and different approaches to problem-solving
  • Understand the benefits of collaborative leadership for organisational culture
  • Harness systems thinking to solve organisational problems.
  • You’ll receive 10 UK level 7 credits in completing this online microcredential. These credits are obtained once you’ve successfully completed your assessment.
  • Stack your choice of microcredentials and build towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management Practice from Nottingham Business School.

What you’ll study

This skills you gain in this microcredential will help you to effectively address complex challenges within organisations using ethical, values-centred approaches. You will study the principles of systemic problem-solving, focusing on integrating organisational values into decision-making processes.

You will enhance your leadership development through a combination of theory and practical application, delving into topics like organisational dynamics, ethical decision-making, and the role of resilience in navigating change, as well as analysing case studies and participating in interactive learning.

Entry requirements

UK students

This microcredential is designed for middle and senior managers or professionals working in any sector or industry with an interest in learning more about systems thinking and how to take a values-driven approach to problem-solving in organisational systems.

While no prior knowledge is needed, it’s recommended you have some professional work experience before joining this microcredential.

International students

You might be able to get a scholarship to help fund your studies. We award scholarships to students who can demonstrate excellent achievement, passion and dedication to their studies.

Alumni discount

We’re happy to offer a 20% alumni discount to most current NTU students and recent NTU alumni. This discount is currently available for those starting an eligible postgraduate taught, postgraduate research or professional course.

Postgraduate loans

There is a government postgraduate loan scheme for Masters degrees. The loan contributes towards costs of study, and students can put it towards tuition fees, maintenance costs or other costs at their discretion. Find out more about postgraduate loans.

Paying fees

As an international student, you'll need to make an advance payment of £6,000 when you've accepted your offer to study at NTU. You'll then need to pay your tuition fees in full, or have an agreement to pay in two further instalments, before the start date of your course.
