Introduction:
This course provides an introduction to digital forensics at a crime scene and methods used in the recovery of digital forensic evidence. You will cover the procedures involved in recovering digital devices and other types of digital evidence at a crime scene before going on to look at seizure, safe handling, packaging and storage of digital evidence.
During this course you will study:
- Digital forensics including underpinning theory and legislation for admissibility of digital evidence
- Principles and standard procedures for digital crime scene processing and recording to minimise data loss due to inappropriate seizure
- Requirements for recovery of common digital devices
- Digital crime scene case studies.
What you’ll study
During this course you will study the legislation and principles underpinning digital forensic investigations; the processes for recovery of common digital devices. You will learn how to apply digital evidence principles to crime scene examination and the methods for recovering digital devices.
How you’re taught
This course is delivered online and will take around 50 hours to complete. You can start at anytime and have up to three months to complete the course. You will study your learning material through our online learning platform and have access to our expert members of staff for support throughout your course.
