NTU well placed to meet changing demands from Indian applicants
NTU has been in the national and regional press in India a lot recently, commenting on the shifting trends in demand from Indian students looking to study in the UK. More students are exploring regional UK cities that offer affordability, a supportive environment and career-ready skills and experience. NTU remains a great study choice to meet these demands. What are the entry requirements for students from India?
The entry requirements for Bachelors and Masters degrees at NTU for students from India are listed below. Select your qualification from the list to see what you need to join a course at the University.
Please note that these entry requirements are guidelines only. If you have questions about your qualification and it is not listed here, please contact us.
If you have achieved a grade average of 50%+ you could study an International Year One courses at Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC).
If you have achieved a grade average of 65% made from four relevant subjects (native language excluded), you could study a first year entry Bachelors degrees.
You could study a Postgraduate taught course with the following qualifications:
- Grades of 55% (2.1), 50% (2.2) from the University of Mumbai, University of Kolkata and University of Delhi.
- Grades of 60% (2.1), 55% (2.2) from other recognised universities in India
If your results will be in a GPA format please email india@ntu.ac.uk.
If you have achieved grades of 50%+ from recognised universities in India, you could study a postgraduate taught course.
If you have achieved grades of 60%+ from recognised universities in India, you could study PhD research.
To meet the University’s language requirements, you’ll need one of the following:
Higher Secondary Certificate (Standard XII) - Awarded by CBSE and select State Boards that include Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu (Board of Higher Secondary Examinations), Kerala.
- 70/100 (70%) or 160/200 (80%)
A degree from the following universities:
- The University of Mumbai; The University of Delhi; The University of Calcutta; Bangalore University; Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly The University of Pune); The University of Chennai/Madras; Osmania University; The University of Goa.
Students who do not meet the English language requirements are encouraged to take a Pre-sessional English language for Academic Purposes (PEAP) course.

Scholarships, merit-based awards and discounts
Our scholarships range from £2,000 up to 50% off your tuition fees. These are awarded to Bachelors and Masters students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the University community.
We offer a wide variety of awards. For our competitive scholarships, you need to complete a short statement as part of your application, demonstrating why you are a good candidate. For our merit-based awards, if you are eligible, you need only to fill in your name and course details there is no need for an additional statement.
Our awards are applied as tuition fee reductions once you enrol on your course at NTU. Last year we awarded over 1,300 scholarships to students from more than 80 countries.

Personalised support with your application
To help you plan for your studies, we want you to get the support you need to ensure you can confidently prepare for your move to the UK, be financially prepared and understand the course requirements. As part of your offer conditions after you have applied to NTU, you’ll be required to do the following things, depending on your course and situation.
If you’re holding an offer to study a Masters at NTU and you are not being supported by an NTU-approved agent, you will be asked to:
- Book a pre-CAS interview with NTU. This interview will take place on MS Teams with a member of staff from the NTU International Team and should last 30 minutes. We'll be able to tell you more about the requirements when you apply.
- Pay an advance payment of £9,000 - we recommend you do this through Flywire, our preferred payment partner.
If you’re holding an offer to study a Bachelors or Masters at NTU and are from the Punjab and Haryana regions of India, you will be asked to:
- Book a pre-CAS interview with NTU. This interview will take place on MS Teams with a member of staff from the NTU International Team and should last 30 minutes. We'll be able to tell you more about the requirements when you apply.
- You will also be required to pay the full first year of your course tuition fees . We recommend you do this through Flywire, our preferred payment partner. You will need to pay this before we issue your CAS and before you enrol.
