City Campus
The accommodation is near to our City Campus. Located in the heart of Nottingham, it gives you the best of both worlds: a comfortable living space on or near campus, and a lively city centre. You’ll love living and studying in an area that’s tailor-made for students. Travel links include frequent bus and tram routes, with the city’s main bus and train stations close by. Students studying at Clifton, Brackenhurst or the Mansfield Hub can also choose to live in city-based halls. See which campus your subject is taught at to help choose your new home.

This was my first time leaving home and living without my family, and honestly, it wasn’t easy going abroad alone to a completely unfamiliar country at such a young age. But from the very first day, the staff here made everything so much easier. They’ve always been welcoming, friendly, and genuinely concerned about our well-being and safety. Thanks to them, I never really felt alone. The environment is warm and supportive, and it truly feels like a second home. That’s why I keep rebooking and have decided to stay here for the entire 3 years of my studies haha! I just love it here. Also, I had all the facilities I needed. Overall, it’s been very good value for money especially considering the quality of the accommodation and services. Coming from a low-income country, the cost felt quite high for me personally, but the comfort, safety and support I received made it absolutely worth it.
The rooms are perfect the big and I recommend to everyone
The Maltings accommodation is great value for money and the staff here are amazing. The services they provide couldn’t be better. The flat itself is the perfect size and the rooms at the maltings are above the average size of normal uni accommodation rooms which is great!
It's a bit of an old building so socialising can be hard but in general it's a wonderful place to live. The WiFi is fast and consistent, it's maybe gone down a handful of times throughout my stay and the cleaning team is amazing. I highly recommend The Maltings.
The staff are all super friendly! The accommodation is super clean and kept on top of
The Maltings is a nice place to stay if you're looking for somewhere quiet to live whilst you study. It has good transport links and acceptable amenities that make for a good balance of city life and living in a quiet town. The staff are awesome and always willing to help. Also, there are good social spaces and the rooms are big for the amount of money you are paying.
My experience with loving in the maltings has been mostly positive, as the quality of the facilities are great, especially for the price. In addition to this, all of the staff members, from the receptionists to the cleaners, are very friendly. The only downside I have had with this accommodation this year is the social experience, as there has not been much opportunity to meet other students living at the maltings.
This is such a lovely place to stay all the staff are really friendly and the flatmates look out for each other.
It’s fun, chill and relaxing. Mate new friends all are cool and learned lot new things from them.
The Maltings is great value for money and the staff are friendly. However, it is a 15 minute bus ride to campus but you are provided with a free bus pass. Rooms are clean, kitchen appliances all work. WiFi is good. Location isn’t the best considering it’s out of the city but there are regular trams and buses.
Good and reasonably cheap for such a large room - would totally recommend the slightly more expensive rooms as far bigger and better. Only issue is distance to campus but you do get a free bus pass
further than other halls to uni but free bus pass makes up for it. staff were lovely and proactive when maintenance issues occurred..
Stayed here for 2 years. It was a great experience, they hold socials in the common room once a week which is great for meeting new people. Also they have an easter egg hunt before the end of term 2.
Good budget experience for a low budget student
I stayed at The Maltings in my first year as it was one of the cheapest accomms and close enough to the city for me (20-30 min by bus+ a 7 min walk). They have 2 common rooms and you can hang out in both, one has a more chill couch area and the other has a more sit down, working area, both with TVs. The accomm was well cleaned weekly (the common spaces in the flats) and there was parking space available. There was always help available with an app where you can flag down issues as well as you could just go up to the desk. There are 2 laundry rooms which you can use but you have to pay, and they keep you mail for you that you can pick up later, which is neat. The flat lighting and corridors in the cheaper phase looks a bit like a prison, but it was fine given the price. I liked the rooms but I always had a relatively small room before. There wer always weekly events that students led for people to hang out so there were always social opportunities if you didn't want to go into the city.
Far from University but by free bus path, it doesn't matter. good and bad in some cases but overall, acceptable due to the money you pay.
