Living in NTU’s halls of residence, you can count on a great range of benefits:
Your halls community
This is where your student experience really starts – the place you’ll make lasting friends and memories as you settle into your new life.
If you choose NTU or UPP halls you’ll live exclusively with other NTU students.
If you're a first year student you'll live with others first years - if you're a returning student, you'll live with other returners.
When you move in, check out the programme of events – from trips to local events to games nights in the common room, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get yourself familiar with the hall’s community.
No deposit, no guarantor – no problem
We know there’s a lot of admin when you’re applying for University. Here at NTU, we want to simplify the booking process and remove any hidden steps and unexpected fees.
At NTU or UPP halls, you don’t need to pay a deposit or provide a guarantor to book a room. That means you won’t be required to make any upfront payments, or complete any long application forms just so you can secure a room with us. The first time you need to pay anything will be after the start of term, and when your time comes to move out, you won’t need to wait for a deposit to be refunded.
This applies to all students across every level of study.
Safety and security
Excellent security - Our residences include a range of security measures for your peace of mind, such as CCTV, door entry systems, and on-site or on-call security staff.
Support - As a resident, you’ll have easy access to all our amazing support services. Student Support Services offer in depth and specialist support. On site at the accommodation we have live-in wardens.
We also have a team of Student Accommodation Support Officers who are roaming and available to see you at the halls, at the campus, via phone, email or video call! They have extended availability and can be there for you during evening and weekends.

NTU is excited to offer Lifestyle flats for the 2025/26 academic year. We're always striving to adapt to the needs of our students, and we know these are constantly evolving. That's why we're including Quiet Flats for a calmer living environment, and Alcohol-Free Flats for students who are non-drinkers.
These flats are available at Gill Street North, Blenheim, New Hall and Peverell, with Quiet Flats also offered on our Brackenhurst Campus.
You'll be able to state your preference when booking through our online portal, but this does not guarantee you a Lifestyle flat as the number of these rooms is limited and subject to availability.
We offer rooms in single gender flats and/or houses. This means your flat mates will identify with the same gender as you. Please note, single gender accommodation may not be available in every hall. The accommodation portal will show live availability of all the single gender rooms that can be booked. Additionally, residents are permitted to have visitors that don’t share the same gender identity.
We have a wide range of accessible accommodation, and we’re eager to support students with specific requirements and / or medical conditions. If you have a condition that requires daily or 24-hour personal care, we can provide a room for your personal carer/assistant under the same terms and conditions as other residents. Contact our team, who can help you find the perfect accommodation for your requirements.
