BUCS short course and long course are the highlight events of the year for our swimmers. We also participate in BUSL conferences with other universities, which are perfect for those looking to get back into competition after a break.
Our water polo teams have BUCS games almost weekly against other universities, with the opportunity to compete in the National Cup league. Additionally, our committee organises various friendly matches throughout the year to give beginners valuable game experience.
Term three holds the annual varsity series. All sports teams from Trent and UoN will face off with each other. And the end, the university with the most points is the champion, winning all the bragging rights that come with it. Everyone in the team is encouraged to take part. Swimming in all races (including relays) and playing in the women's and men's water polo matches. And it all ends in one big varsity night out.
As a sports society, we do more than just train together—we socialise together too. Our activities include Ocean Wednesdays (society night), awards night, boat balls, and supporting other members in water polo games and swimming competitions. We also organise social activities like ice skating, bowling, and SU Saturdays.
