Nottingham Trent University Gymnastics is a relatively new sports club which has been up and running for nearly five years now. Each year, our numbers continue to grow. We love to see gymnasts develop throughout their time in our club, even if they have no prior experience! Throughout the years, NTU gymnastics members have had the opportunity to compete across the country, where they have managed to not only gain a fun experience but also medals.
NTU Gymnastics club consists of one team all of different ability levels. We have three competitions a year which are a great experience and help to give a sense of the fun competitive side of the sport. When competing, it is optional as to which level you compete in, however as a close team, we travel together and cheer each other on. Our coach is also trained in teaching gymnastics to those with disabilities, so we are an inclusive club that anyone can join.
Our coaches are our current president: Tashi Swycher, who is level two qualified and our treasurer and social and wellbeing officer: Kaitlin Marsden and Jess Smallwood who are level one.
Practice / Meeting schedule
We have three training sessions a week; Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We are lucky to have access to and own gym mats, a springboard, crashmats, a trampette and an air track. All of our sessions are fully accessible and open to all.
