Trent Snowsports is a friendly and welcoming club which has been running for over 40 years. We are always open to those interested in the freshest sport around! We are one of the largest clubs within NTU Sport, offering a range of activities to satisfy all, regardless of interests and ability. Whether you're a novice or professional, anyone can join the club. Take the opportunity to create great memories.
We have 300+ active members attending weekly socials, weekly training sessions and the biannual trips. We compete annually in university league competitions, including BUDS, BUiSC and The After Jam.
The biggest event of the year, the Christmas Trip, usually takes 300+ students to the mountains, for what promises to be a definite highlight of your University year. If you can’t make the Christmas trip, we also have an Easter Trip. Smaller, but just as fun, where you’re guaranteed to have an unreal time! Here are the resorts we have visited over the past few years:
- Pas de la Casa - Easter 2019
- Avoriaz - Christmas 2018
- Pas de la Casa - Easter 2018
- Val Thorens - Christmas 2017
- Pas de la Casa - Easter 2017
- Tignes - Christmas 2016
Have a look on our Facebook page and YouTube channel, where we have videos and photos from previous trips.
Indoor Freestyle Sessions take place on a Thursday night for affiliated members at Castleford Xcsape. Riders can progress by hitting various features in the dome.
This will stretch from riding smaller boxes and jumps into riding longer rails and larger jumps. These sessions will, no doubt, prepare you for the real deal, as it is a great place to improve your confidence in the park before the trips.
As long as you’ve got the essentials—helmet, gloves and clothing— we’ve got everything else covered.
We also look to run race training in first term if there’s enough popularity so keep an eye on that!
British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS)
We compete annually in university league competitions, including BUDS and BUiSC. On our committee we have a dedicated Competitions Officer who organises these events so keep an eye on the Facebook page.
You can fill your Wednesday afternoons straight away at our Swadlincote Dry Slope sessions. Beginners can learn and improve, and everybody can enjoy a taste of the slopes. There will be 3 sessions in term 1, where travel, equipment hire and teaching time is included.
