NTU’s ever growing Table Tennis Society is one of the highest scoring BUCS performance sports for NTU. With a wide range of players from our scholar programme, performance players and other squad members joining each year. We also offer more relaxed sessions and social events on top of the weekly training and coaching opportunities.
NTU has one of the best university programmes in the country for Table Tennis, currently consisting of 5 scholars, a performance squad, with 7 teams participating in the BUCS Leagues. In addition to BUCS, Trent has access to extra training opportunities to play alongside, train with members from Nottingham Sycamore Table Tennis Academy based at Carlton Lee Willows Table Tennis Centre. Furthermore, we also give our players the chances to play in local league and British League event.
We also participate in the Varsity series against the University of Nottingham. As well as the squad sessions and coaching, we also run social sessions where non-members can meet new people and play more casually.
Our Men’s 1st team have yet again qualified for the European University Games, they will be representing NTU in Italy this year.
With the extensive training opportunities at NTU, all sessions during the week provides coaching time as well as exercises, drills and game time during the week. With our main coach- Jason Ramage (Level 3) and our assistant coach- Martin Tilling, we provide a good level of coaching and development for beginners, upcoming and performance players.
For the 1st/2nd team training and all scholar one-to-one sessions, being taken by Jason Ramage throughout the week as well as coaching at games and major events.
