Triathlon is a multi-discipline sport that consists of swimming, cycling and running. Because of the different sports it is a brilliant for increasing fitness and keeping exercise fun! Whether you've raced many times or are interesting in starting and looking for a challenge, NTU Triathlon is an exciting a competitive and social club to get stuck into!
As one of the smaller clubs at NTU we’re all very close and team up with the swimming club and the cycling club for our training sessions.
Not only do we train with other clubs but we socialise with them too, expect plenty of joint socials!
On the weekend we like to relax and go on social runs and rides where there’s always time for a cafe stop.
Events are a great chance to keep track on your fitness as well as meeting loads of other like minded people from all abilities. We’ll be going to BUCS events as well as local events including GO events which is aimed at beginners.
Whilst I have been part of NTU Triathlon, I have developed great friendships which has allowed me to find people to train with and socialise with. The club is a great community and I often feel able to ask my fellow club members for advice, whether its Triathlon specific or not.
Some key memories I have had with the club include our first race last year at the BUCS Duathlon where we had a fun day out racing against other universities. We have also had many memorable and amusing training sessions. One I really enjoy is our Wednesday social cycles where we always have time for a stop at a cafe/pub for a drink and chat.
We are lucky enough to have a coach for our running and cycling sessions.
