Role

I am a HE Lecturer in the Nottingham School of Art and Design. I am a musician and have an MA in Music Technology and Innovation, specialising in game audio. I also undertook my FHEA in first year of teaching. My expertise lies in music performance, studio recording, sound design and game audio. I lead the following modules: Sound Design, Audio for Games and Sound for Visual Content. I approach these subjects both creatively and practically, implementing theories and concepts into practice. In sessions I try to foster independent learning alongside discussion and debate on relevant topics. I also teach on modules in the studio, incorporating my own recording experience.

Career overview

Since 2019, I have been performing and recording as an artist under the name Hex Poseur. I regularly perform and tour around the UK, performing over 200 shows in the last 4 years. I was previously signed to New York based record label Manic Kat Records, with whom I released 1 full length album and 2 EPs. My Music was mixed and mastered by John Naclerio, famous for previously working with My Chemical Romance. I am continuing to write, record and perform alongside my teaching.

I previously worked full time as an Audio-Visual Technician for conferences and corporate events. Before this I was a casual theatre technician and freelance live sound engineer. I have also taught English as a foreign language, completing a TEFL course and tutoring online, as well as teaching guitar in various places, including at a USA summer camp.
