Role
I wrote the BA (Hons) Content Creation course in 2021 and officially launched it in 2022 - one of the first undergraduate degrees of its kind in the UK. At that time, very few universities were offering dedicated courses in content creation, so this degree was designed to fill that gap and reflect the rapidly changing digital media landscape.
As the Course Leader, I’m responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the student journey is the best it can be. This includes overseeing the curriculum, supporting teaching staff, and working closely with students to make sure they feel inspired, challenged, and well-supported throughout their studies.
Ultimately, my role is about shaping an engaging, inclusive, and forward-thinking learning experience - one that empowers students to experiment, find their creative voice, and build meaningful connections in the digital world.
Career overview
I began my career teaching Media and Film at secondary school level, delivering GCSE, BTEC, and A Level courses. This experience gave me a strong foundation in creative education and a deep understanding of how students develop skills and confidence through storytelling and production.
After several years in schools, I moved into further education, where I managed a college course in VFX and Animation. This role allowed me to explore the technical and creative sides of digital production while supporting students who were preparing to enter the creative industries.
In 2022, I became the Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Content Creation degree - a natural progression that brought together my background in media, film, and education with my passion for new and emerging digital forms. I love being able to draw on traditional media principles while applying them to the fast-paced, constantly evolving world of content creation.
