The difference between our postgraduate courses
We offer two types of postgraduate courses: taught courses and research courses.
Taught courses
We offer three taught postgraduate Civil Engineering courses at NTU, which have been designed to meet the needs of industry by developing the skills, knowledge and experience of professionals working in the built environment sector.
These courses are suitable for students with an undergraduate degree related to Civil Engineering who wish to progress onto postgraduate study.
Our taught courses are:
- MSc Civil Engineering
- MSc Structural Engineering with Management
- MSc Structural Engineering with Materials.
Research courses
We also offer a number of postgraduate research courses – these are predominantly student-led and will be supervised by a member of our academic team. You will look in-depth at an identified issue and research widely to produce a substantial body of research evidence. We offer PhD courses as postgraduate research routes.
