Engage in careers events

Careers events and fairs at Nottingham Law School provide an opportunity to meet different employers, explore career options and get support on your career journey. Frequent workshops further seek to improve your employability skills by helping you learn how to tackle applications and approach assessment centres.

Exclusive NLS events

Nottingham Law School organises many events throughout the year to help you prepare for your future.

What events are there?

  • NLS careers week (featuring the Nottingham Law School law fair with over 50 local and national law firms)
  • A series of guest lectures
  • Co-curricular talks from NLS alumni and members of the legal profession
  • Information sessions on routes to qualify as a legal professional
  • Networking with industry professionals, which have previously included a commercial law academy bootcamp facilitated by Jake Schogger, an ‘Empowering Ethnic Minorities in Law’ panel event and social events with local lawyers.

The events provide you with the perfect opportunity to:

  • Get advice for making successful postgraduate study and job applications
  • Find ways to gain work experience
  • Get career inspiration
  • Plan your career journey
  • Get an insight into ‘hot topics’ in the legal sector
  • Learn about the day-to-day lives of professionals

NTU events

NTU have events throughout the year open to all students for you to engage with employers from different industries, many of which will have a legal department and graduate opportunities.

NTU’s careers fairs and events are recommended for law students who are open to work experience and graduate roles in non-legal fields.
