Why did you choose NTU and your course?

"Having worked in the legal sector advising on property and construction for many years I was intrigued as to how buildings were actually constructed and why they go wrong. I spent a lot of time reading the module content of various other course providers and found NTU to be the most engaging, interesting, and relevant to the industry.  Being accredited by CABE and not only RICS was compelling too."

What were your motivations to choose Postgraduate study?

"A postgraduate degree was the best way to gain a deeper understanding for me and develop my interest in buildings from both a practical and technical know-how rather than purely academic."

What have been your highlights of your course?

"Working on live projects and meeting a breadth of industry experts.  Collaborating with my international peers has also enriched my knowledge, and has developed my professional network."

How has your journey and what you have learnt contributed to your career so far?

"As an Associate Director, I wear many hats!  My time at NTU and my course has enabled me to engage rewardingly with our clients and contractors on a much deeper level.  Those in the wider industry respect the fact that you are at NTU for Building Surveying and that makes you feel proud to have had the opportunity."

What advice would you give to someone applying or looking at studying a course at ADBE and NTU?

"Coming from a different sector, I thought it would be too daunting, but it is so well taught with such passionate, experienced tutors. You are genuinely supported and encouraged to ask questions and share your opinions.  This positive engagement gives you confidence and motivation. You are taught the latest content and have access to the widest, most practical knowledge."

Is there anything else you’d like to say about your experience?

"If you truly want to learn, you will be gladly helped and pushed by heavyweights in the industry."
