More about Ciaran
I've always wanted to be a lighting engineer since I was a very young age. I came into this with the belief that I would be able to try my best and learn and gain my knowledge. The sense of community when coming into this place, I've done so many things that I was not expecting to be doing at the age I am now. There's so much that I've achieved and looking back I'm very proud of myself.
Meeting the lecturers the first time was great. I was kind of astounded and I admired them straight away for their work ethic and their ability to do all the things they're doing. Working with people in our industry is really good because it gives us anecdotes and past experiences that we can then learn from them and it also gives us a good opportunity to get into the industry quite quickly. London has so many opportunities that after uni, once I've got my degree, I have the freedom to go to lots of places.
London is very diverse, very versatile and has a variety of events and I think this uni has really helped me increase my confidence, my enthusiasm and my joy for this subject and also importantly my belief that I can find a job in this industry. I can achieve what I want to do when I grow up.
