What you need to know when applying for a scholarship
When you can apply
You must already hold an offer of a place to study at Nottingham Trent University on an eligible course for September 2023 or January 2024 entry in order to apply for our scholarships.
Applicants can only apply for a scholarship once per academic year and per offer of a place to study on a qualifying course.
You can submit a new scholarship application if you apply for a second course or a course with a different start date. You can apply for our scholarships if you hold a conditional or an unconditional offer.
Submitting your application and what happens next
You can only apply for a scholarship once you have received an offer of a place on an eligible course and been allocated an NTU ID number.
You must submit your application to study a course at NTU at least six weeks before the scholarship closing date. This allows enough time for our Admissions team to process your application and confirm an offer. Applications to study at NTU submitted to our Admissions team less than 6 weeks before the scholarship deadline are not guaranteed to be processed in time.
You should receive an automatic email confirming that your application has been submitted successfully when you apply for a scholarship using our online scholarship application forms.
You should receive an email to confirm the outcome of your scholarship application within five weeks of submitting it, however in some cases this may take longer.
Please ensure that you read the scholarship application form carefully and answer all questions in full. It is very important that you complete your form correctly, as we are unable to make any amendments to your application once it has been submitted.
We cannot change or amend your application once it has been submitted. With your permission, we can delete your application and you can start again. To request this please email our Scholarships team.
Deferring an offer
If you have been awarded a scholarship, the scholarship is not transferable. It will not be awarded if you choose to defer your entry to a different start date or if you choose to transfer to a different course at the University.
If you choose to defer your studies, you can submit a new scholarship application for your new start date. Our scholarships can change year on year, so you should check our website for the most up to date information.
Contact us by using our online enquiry form to ensure you can defer your offer and have it confirmed.
Music and Sports scholarships
If you're a talented musician or athlete, you can also apply for a scholarship in music or sports. These offer tailored tuition in your field that ensures everything is put in place for you to develop your potential and achieve academic and musical or sporting success.
As these scholarships are non-funded awards, you are welcome to apply for them alongside another funded scholarship.
Postgraduate Open Events
