Our summer school accommodation is available to students aged 15–17 who have booked onto one of our summer schools for 15 - 17 year olds.
Bookings are taken on a seven-night basis, from Saturday to Saturday and cost £280
There are different arrangements depending on your age:
- If you're 15: You'll need to stay with a parent or guardian. You'll each need to book your own single room, and we'll arrange for you to stay next to each other.
- If you're 16 or 17: You can stay independently with permission from your parent or guardian. We'll send you a consent form when you book, which you'll both need to complete before you arrive. Please note that you will be unable to check in to your accommodation without having completed and returned this form.
To support safeguarding, all guests aged 16 and 17 will be accommodated together in the same halls of residence.
All accommodation bookings must be made by someone aged 18 or over.
What's included
You'll stay in one of our five halls of residence on City Campus, close to your summer school activities and Nottingham city centre.
You'll have:
- Your own single bedroom with a private bathroom, including a toilet and wet-room-style shower
- A shared kitchen with an oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer
- Basic crockery and cooking utensils
- Free Wi-Fi
- Bed linen ready for your arrival
- Access to a coin-operated launderette
- 24-hour reception and security
Accommodation is self-catered, so you'll need to arrange your own meals. There are cafés on campus for breakfast and lunch, as well as plenty of places to eat and shop nearby.
We'll confirm which residence you're staying in, along with check-in details, one week before you arrive.
Arriving and settling in
Your accommodation is available from Saturday, but you can arrive on Sunday or Monday if that works better for you, the price stays the same regardless of how many nights you choose to stay.
You can check-in from 2 pm on arrival and check-out is before 10 am on departure. Our halls have 24-hour reception, so there'll be someone to welcome you and help you collect your room key when you arrive.
There is limited on street pay-and-display car parking outside Gill Street South on Hampden Street for drop off and collection.
Meet and greet and campus tours
Our friendly Student Ambassadors will be around over the weekend to help you settle in, show you around City Campus and answer any questions you might have.
Saturday
- Meet and greet: 2 pm–6 pm
- Campus tours: 3 pm and 5 pm
Sunday
- Meet and greet: 2 pm–8 pm
- Campus tours: 3 pm, 5 pm and 7 pm
Safeguarding information
Staying in university accommodation is a chance to experience some independence, with staff available whenever you need help.
The reception and security team are available 24 hours, and there will be dedicated Wardens in the accommodation outside of course hours. You'll also be provided with a mobile number for the Wardens during your stay.
Evening check-in and curfew
If you're 16 or 17 and staying without a parent or guardian, there are a few arrangements in place to make sure everyone is safe.
- You'll need to check in with the Warden at reception each evening between 9 pm and 11 pm.
- You'll need to be back in your accommodation by 11 pm.
- Check-in must be in person, even if you've already returned to your room earlier in the evening.
If you miss your check-in, the Wardens will try to contact you and check whether you're in your room. If they can't confirm you're safe, they'll contact your parent or guardian. If your whereabouts still can't be established, they'll contact the police.
These arrangements don't apply if you're staying with your parent or guardian.
Please note that external guests aren't permitted in the accommodation or shared flats.

NTU is a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Approved Activity Provider. When you book accommodation alongside your summer school course, your stay counts towards the Residential section of your Gold Award.

If you need to cancel your accommodation, please email us with your cancellation request.
- More than one week before arrival: You'll receive a refund minus a £30 administration charge.
- Less than one week before arrival: Unfortunately, we can't offer a refund.
No, all bookings are taken on a seven-night basis, from Saturday to Saturday, individual days cannot be booked separately.
