Bursaries and Scholarships

We offer extra financial support for undergraduate students – check to see if you’re eligible for additional funding.

Bursaries

A university bursary is an award that can help those who may not have otherwise been able to afford to attend university. We offer the following cash bursaries to prospective students:

We will award a cash bursary of £750 per year to eligible full-time UK home undergraduate students, who start their studies on an eligible course at NTU in 2024.

The bursary is provided to eligible students who:

  • are paying the maximum home tuition fee for a full-time course which leads to an Undergraduate Degree, Foundation Degree, Certificate of Higher Education (CERT HE), Higher National Certificate (HNC), or Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • have a household income of £27,500 per year or less (as assessed by their UK national Student Finance Service)
  • are eligible to receive a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan from their UK National Student Finance Service.

If eligible, this bursary is paid in each year of your course (but will not normally be paid during any year-long work placement as part of a sandwich degree). Full terms and conditions will be published on the StudentHub.

There’s no separate application process to apply for an NTU Bursary. Your eligibility is automatically assessed as long as you’ve applied and are eligible for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan from your national Student Finance Service.

You should receive written confirmation from us between September and November 2024. Contact us on +44 (0)115 848 2494 or email our Student Money Team if you think you meet the bursary eligibility criteria but haven’t received the letter by November.

The NTU Opportunity Bursary is an annual award designed to support students in engaging in extra-curricular activities that may otherwise not be available to them and will help improve their outcomes at university. The bursary of £165 will be awarded to eligible students in January of each year of their studies from the 2024/25 academic year.
