Very good halls, perfect location to attend city campus. Would recommend to new coming student looking for well priced accommodation and good facilities.
have loved living in gill street! would recommend highly
I’ve lived my stay here as a mature student, it’s a safe and calm space, well maintained and my studio has been perfect for my first year. I couldn’t be closer to the library, the student union, and the town centre. The staff here have been so helpful during this first year. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it
Only negatives is that rent is expensive, and most importantly when i shower the water always leaks outside the bathroom and then i have a wet carpet for ages.
I’ve had a great time living in Gill Street North, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. it’s a great place to live as a student
I liked staying in Gill Street North because it was in the centre and everything was within walking distance; the Students Union, my classes (even though one of my classes was a 20 minute walk away), the mini Tesco and The Victoria Shopping Centre. There was no need for me to move into a house with my friends because I always liked meeting new ones every year but I still see my friends, that I made on the Music Performance Course everyday.
Gill Street North was the perfect distance from NTU and had all of the amenities I needed, my room was a good size and our kitchen stayed relatively clean and tidy! I would recommend.
I’m currently a first year student in Gill Street North. I would recommend the accommodation due to its location to the university. I’ve always felt safe within the buildings as there is 24/7 security and gates to enter. The staff are really friendly and maintained are quick to resolve any problems. There are also free weekly social events ran by the accommodation which I personally have enjoyed attending. The free weekly kitchen cleaning also is really nice as it ensures that there is always a hygienic space to cook, and the bins are taken out multiple times throughout the week. I’ve had no issues with the wifi either, and if there is any planned maintenance or visits happening, the reception staff have great communication via the app. The only downsides to the accommodation is that there are only 6 washing and drying machines for all of the students. At the start of the year, this made laundry a struggle but it has definitely quietened down now.
I have had a lovely experience living in gill street north, the location has been amazing being so close to my lectures, shopping center, food and the clubs. The kitchen is always cleaned once a week and the bins get taken out everyday which is great and they are always efficient and on it. The rooms are decent size and lots of storage space. Only down side is that i was put into block h which wasn’t really done up as much as block a, the kitchen is abit run down.
Only thing I don’t like is that it’s a wet room, other than that is great!!
love living at GSN and my room has a lot of space but could look more modern for the price i’m paying
I personally loved my experience here, the only thing I wish it had was that the way the kitchen is cleaned every week, I wish the same was extended to bathrooms in en-suite rooms. Otherwise the staff is really amazing, rooms are spacious enough and being so close to university makes it all even better.
I will really miss that place when I leave it :( I genuinely loved it there and it’s super close to everything you could possibly need.
Great accommodation to help settle in new students, brilliant location, staff are always lovely and help quickly help with any issues.
The location is perfect, and the accommodation as a whole is known for being social but doesn’t have any social spaces where flats can merge. Any issues are always resolved very quickly and there are always people around to help.
I’ve had an outstanding experience living in the university’s student accommodation. From the moment I arrived, everything was incredibly well-organized, making the move-in process smooth and stress-free. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and always available to answer any questions. The rooms are modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable furnishings and plenty of storage. High-speed internet, well-maintained common areas, and fully equipped kitchens made daily life convenient and enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the quiet study areas and social spaces that struck a perfect balance between academic focus and community life. The sense of community here is fantastic. There are regular events and activities that help residents connect and form lasting friendships. Security is taken seriously, and I’ve always felt safe thanks to the secure entry systems and friendly on-site support teams. Overall, living in the university accommodation has significantly enriche
Time at gill street north is comfortable due to the location being on city campus and being less than 5 minutes from shopping centres for fun and good for stocking up on supplies
