On Thursday 14th May we held this year’s Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme Celebration event at Clifton Campus.

The Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme (AIFP) provides NTU students with insight into industry and life after graduation through our global network of volunteers. NTU alum and local industry supporters alike contribute their time to a variety of activities across the schools and central programme.

The Celebration Event is a unique opportunity for us to thank the Alumni and Industry Fellows for their support over the year.

This year's celebrations were hosted at Clifton campus, a new venue for the event and a fantastic opportunity for the Fellows to explore more of the NTU offer.

With thanks to our colleagues at the Institute of Heath and Allied Professions we were able to start the evening with a tour of their purpose-built building, that facilitates teaching, practise and research opportunities for students and professionals at NTU.

The celebrations continued with talks from across the programme, including Vice Chancellor Dave Petley’s first event with the Fellows, talking about the academic year in review and the impact of the Fellows on our student community.

Two students joined us to share their experiences on the RISE programme.

Second year Product Design student, Leah Benjafield spoke about interacting with Fellows and gaining invaluable insights into industry.

Saad Muhammad, a second year Computer Science student, shared how the Fellows provided an unique experience that supported the students wider understanding of the professional world.

The guests also heard from Fellows, Anoushka Srivastava and Anthony Cheung. Alumni Relations Executive Georgia Petts hosted a panel which explored the Fellows experiences with the AIFP.

Anthony spoke to the positive examples he saw as a law student through industry contacts and how his own involvement in the AIFP was guided by a desire to give back to current students who may not see themselves represented in the field.

Anouskha talked about the reciprocal relationship between Fellows and students, how the AIFP for her isn’t just about giving support and advice to students but getting back insight from them as well.

Alumni Relations Executive, Jennifer Basi wrapped up the talks with reflections on the support of the Fellows over the last academic year, pulling out key moment from activities including our suite of mentoring programmes, guest lectures across the schools and many more.

After the presentation we headed back to the Pavillion building for refreshments and networking, accompanied by NTU musicians, with the opportunity to further explore conversations about volunteering activity.

As a lovely evening drew to a close we were able to appreciate the commitment of the network of Fellows across NTU.

NTU is looking forward to continuing their work with Alumni and Industry Fellows in the 2026/27 academic year as they continue to provide support and insight to our current students.
