Technician cutting wood using electric saw

Our specialist workshops house a range of equipment, technology and the expertise to support it. Our Digital Manufacturing Consultancy Service team can bridge knowledge gaps with unbiased information, giving you a no-pressure insight into the range of possibilities that different machinery and processes offer.

Whether you're looking for water-jet cutters to create contemporary stained glass, or 3D printers to produce dental surgery aids, we have a variety of facilities that could help you. There are also small and large-format laser cutters, CNC six-axis machines, and plasma cutters.

These are used by research staff who are creating new products for the energy, space, and rail industries as well as our technicians who produce hundreds of prototypes for our undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students each year.
