History at NTU
History and heritage is a route to your future. Challenge your digital literacy, analytical, interpretive and communication skills to open up limitless professional possibilities.
By studying history you’ll explore diverse cultures, nations and ideas to build genuine insight and credentials as a sociocultural commentator. Apply your theoretical skills through company projects, volunteering and placements with our partner organisations. Our teaching staff are experts in the field of history and heritage, with significant industry and research experience to support your studies.
Our History undergraduate courses are designed to help you pursue a successful career in related sectors such as museum, heritage, archaeology, archive, conservation, teaching and academia. It’s also a discipline that’s equally valued in a range of non-heritage sectors – including management, business, accountancy, publishing and law.
And if you want to specialise at Masters level you can create your own learning pathway. We can guide your History research interests across the Crusades and Crusaders, early modern religions and cultures, race and lynching, memory, genocide, the Holocaust, or social history. Our creative, practice-based courses for museum and heritage develop your skills for people, places and experience, objects and collections, ideal for careers as exhibition museum curators, educators, and visitor service managers.
