How we support you
Our International Student Support team are dedicated to the needs of international students and we offer advice and guidance on a range of issues, including visas and living in the UK.
We are often some of the very first people you’ll meet because we run a series of welcome events and activities to help all international students settle in to the University. We’re part of a wider team, Student Support Services, you’ll find us in the Student Services Centres.
You can email us, call us on +44 (0)115 848 2631, or drop in between 13:00-16:00 Monday to Friday – you can be sure of a warm welcome.
Visa application guidance
Our team can advise you on all aspects of visa application, including:
- Student visa
- Short-term study visa
- Graduate route visa
- Visa extension
Please check our advice online and contact us if you require any extra support.
Health and wellbeing
It's important to look after your physical and mental health to get the most out of your time at NTU. The health and wellbeing team at NTU can offer support, help and advice while you're at university.
You'll need to register with a doctor (General Practitioner 'GP') at one of our health centres which are based on City and Clifon campuses and near Brackenhurst. When you have registered you will be able to access health care services.
Academic English language support
As an international student on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at NTU, you can access English language support classes during your studies with our specialist lecturers from the Nottingham Institute for Languages and Intercultural Communication (NILIC).
These sessions are free of charge and include one-to-one tutorials and help with academic writing.
Faith at NTU
NTU Faith and Chaplaincy provide activities and initiatives that are open to people of all faiths and those without a faith at all. From religious advice to finding a place to worship, discovering cultural experiences to periods of reflection, everyone is welcome to engage with NTU Faith and Chaplaincy.
We provide facilities for prayer and other faith activities across all campuses.
