Hockey (Brackenhurst Mixed)
Brack mixed hockey is a fun sport to join. All the members of the team are friendly students who are part of the team to have fun and learn new skills. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before as at Brack mixed hockey we work as a team to teach the necessary skills.
Mixed hockey is a sport that anyone can join in. Hockey is a team sport consisting of 11 players per team and the aim is to score as many goals as you can against the opposition while keeping to the sports rules and guidelines.
We use our own skills and knowledge to coach each other, this offers a warm and friendly environment for all of our members.
We also have a social meeting where we go out in Nottingham to Ocean for a night full of laughs and fancy-dress costumes.
Practice / meeting schedule
Training sessions are every Tuesday at 8pm in the City Sports hall – which are free for brack mixed hockey members or £2 per session for non-members.
Training also takes place at Southwell, Minister school, which is only a five minute walk for all you brack students!
Training is a fun and friendly environment where you can practice your skills while enjoying the sport and some exercise.
Taster sessions will occur during Fresher’s Week. Please check the ‘Brack mixed hockey’ Facebook and Instagram page for details on times.
If you miss these, don’t fret – you are welcome every week on Tuesday at 8pm for our friendly training sessions at Southwell minister school AstroTurf pitch.
How to join
We would recommend coming along to a taster session in order to get a feel for the sport before joining.
