More about Georgia

I wanted to study at postgraduate level here at NTU because I did my undergraduate degree at NTU and I really enjoyed the area as well as the level of support you receive from skilled technicians.

My favourite thing about the course is how focused it is on helping you figure out what works best for you within world of Illustration and how they give you the tools to feel confident. The facilities are unmatched, as far as your imagination, ambition and ideas go.

I have entered several competitions such as the AOI (Association of Illustration) Awards, Penguin Books Student Design Awards and Taking Action Through Art #JustImagine Campaign. (2020-2021)

MA Illustration includes many guest speakers from authors and illustrators Alexis Deacon, Chie Hosaka and Joseph Hollis to designers and illustrators such as David Makintosh and Louise Lockhart.

The three words I would use to describe Nottingham is sociable, accepting and dynamic. The creative and cultural scene in Nottingham is really good for people wanting a career in Art and Design as there are many events and venues which look for passionate creatives who come from that sector of NTU and who students actually want to collaborate with, the whole area is connected through creative collaboration.

I would recommend visiting Surface Gallery for the Art, Mowgli for the food and swings and the Arboretum next to NTU City campus as the main chill spot for students.

I would advise new students to try everything and not be afraid of asking others questions.

The MA Illustration course staff are professional, kind and supportive.

I have had several meetings with the Art and Design Employability Team to which they have helped me greatly. The Employability team are clear and fit their advice around what really interests you as an individual going forward.

After NTU I plan to go freelance and in search for collaborative projects as well as responding to briefs continually to progress my presence as an Illustrator. The employability team have already helped plan for my life beyond NTU and continue to support their students up to three years after finishing the course, which is comforting.
