This degree is delivered at our Confetti London Campus in Whitechapel.

What you’ll study

This practical Masters degree will equip with you with the skills and real-world experience of creating inspiring and engaging digital content, allowing you to build your portfolio and network.

During this module, you will engage in high level research combining critical thinking, practical experimentation and reflection to support your development and deep understanding of appropriate technologies and their application within Digital Content Creation. You will develop complex and thorough planning for a range of diverse and sustainable digital content assets for a defined purpose aimed at both intended and non-intended audiences.

Through exposure to new and emerging technologies prepare for your career as an innovative content creator, collaborating with others to project manage and develop original solutions to technical challenges within the production environment. You will develop mastery working both production and postproduction technology to ensure the digital content you produce has high production values and engages both intended and non-intended audiences.

You will also develop the skills to be able to systematically monitor and evaluate audience analytics and metrics and be able to pivot your content both strategically and ethically.

You will continue to monitor and evaluate your digital online content in relation to audience analytics and metrics and make final strategic and ethical decisions with regards to your digital content strategy. You will then deliver your final product to an audience and gather both qualitative and quantitative data on the reception of your final product and analyse data, and evaluate your impact and contribution to the Digital Content Creation industry.

How you’re taught

Work based learning and industry engagement are at the heart of this course. You will engage with live and technical events run as part of Confetti X and Metronome to produce digital online content working with professionals and students on other Postgraduate pathways to deliver tailor made content.

There will also be multiple opportunities to work alongside both Confetti and Nottingham Trent University and their respective marketing departments to support in the promotion of events throughout the academic year through the creation of bespoke digital online content.

Collaboration and networking with industry professionals through Confetti's multiple industry links within the wider creative technology community will also be an integral part of the course.

Careers and employability

The aim is to arm you with the ability to produce engaging content for high street brands, corporate clients, social media influencers or your own channels as a freelancer or start-up.

Graduates will be highly employable and equipped with skills in design, story-telling, video production, editing, communications, and social media asset building. You’ll be able to pursue work in a wide variety of roles including shoot edit filmmaker, media strategist, digital designer, graphic designer, marketing officer, social media influencer, and digital content editor.

Campus and facilities

Study a Content Creation degree with us and you can expect to learn in similar facilities to those available at our campus in Nottingham.

Confetti London's design rooms and esports studio are equipped with Dell XPS PCs with i9 processors, RTX 4080 graphics, and either Dell 34" ultra-wide curved displays or Alienware 25" 360Hz displays.

In our Mac suites, you’ll work on Apple M2 Silicon with Dell 34" ultra-wide curved displays and in our scale-up room we have Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Studio with i7 processors and RTX 3050Ti graphics at all stations.

You'll also find a virtual production studio, event production space, rehearsal rooms, and content creation edit suites.

We're putting the final touches to a purpose-built multi-discipline events and production space with the versatility built-in to function as a 600-capacity live venue, or a virtual production studio complete with LED volume.

Similar to our Nottingham venue, Metronome, it's here where you'll gain valuable work experience and access world-class facilities.

Entry requirements

  • A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree, or an appropriate equivalent, i.e. a professional qualification, from a recognised British or overseas institution, in a related subject.
  • Non-standard applicants with at least three years' industry experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Applicants who do not fully satisfy the general criteria will be considered if they are able to demonstrate that they are capable of successfully undertaking and completing the programme at the required standard. Eligibility may be determined by means of an interview for some applicants.
  • Applicants who have been taught and assessed in languages other than English should have an English language equivalent to IELTS 6.5.

Interview:

You'll be invited to an informal interview after you submit your application, to determine your project ideas, your fit with the course, and to discuss your aspirations.

Advice for non-standard applicants

We welcome applications from applicants without prior qualifications. However, in this instance, you must have proven experience in industry, which demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills at honours degree (undergraduate) standard.

If you are applying without prior qualifications, you will need to submit comprehensive details of your achievements with evidence to substantiate your claim (any documentation can be uploaded to the My Documents section of the Applicant Portal). This type of application will be considered with respect to the University’s provision for ‘accreditation for prior experiential learning’. Decisions regarding the accreditation of prior learning are a matter of academic judgement.
