Introduction:

This degree is delivered at our Confetti London Campus in Whitechapel.

The methodical planning; the long hours; the people managing; the last-minute changes and challenges; followed by the relief and excitement as thousands of event goers go home satisfied. Event management can be a rollercoaster ride, and not for the fainthearted. We know, because at Confetti we do it day-in, day-out.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, study with us and you’ll get countless opportunities to work on real-life events through our industry connections and our very own commercial-facing live music and events venues, working with in-house expert teams and external partners.

What you’ll study

You’ll work on a breadth of events; from music and comedy, theatre productions, to outdoor festivals, esports tournaments, community and corporate events. We work with the likes of Rough Trade, BBC, Just the Tonic, and artists and organisations from across the UK and wider.

Complementing all that real-life experience are regular insights from industry leaders during Confetti Industry Week and through guest lectures.

You’ll learn and work alongside performers, engineers, producers, designers and events specialists in a creative and collaborative eco-system.

Live Event Practice (40 Credit Points)

During this module students will undertake practice in design, planning and delivery of a range of live events. You'll work collaboratively with your peers and stakeholders to produce work across a range of small to medium scale events.

With Confetti owning its own events venues, you'll be able to develop essential skills in planning events such as live music gigs, live streaming, corporate and community events.

Marketing and Promotion (20 credit points)

Great marketing is the backbone to any successful event. Throughout this module, you'll study the underpinning theory and develop your understanding of marketing and promotion in live events.

You'll learn, explore and practice the necessary skills to carry out effective market research. Through theory and practice, you'll learn how to successfully market and promote an event, meeting the needs and expectations of the attendees and key stakeholders.

The Event Industry (20 credit points)

The event industry is fast paced and ever changing. In this module you'll investigate current trends and practices, keeping up-to-date with all the happenings of the local, national, and global events industry.

You'll explore your own strengths and weaknesses and develop your educational and career opportunities through taught and self guided projects.

Event Business Administration (40 credit points)

Proper planning leads to perfect performance! All event planners must be proficient and organised individuals.

In this module you'll learn and practice a range of important administrative, legal frameworks and planning skills that will assist in your personal development as an event manager and as an industry-wide practitioner.

Event Practice 2 (40 Credit Points)

This module will stretch and challenge what you studied in year 1. You'll develop your skills and knowledge in design, planning, delivery and management of live events to a higher level.

You'll study theory and carry out practice to a greater degree of complexity and responsibility. In doing so, delivering a wider more diverse range of events, each with their own unique and often complex needs.

You will attend a series of practical workshops and seminars, the purpose of which will be to expand and challenge pre-existing ideas and perspectives. You will be offered or negotiate a client brief. The work will evolve collaboratively to produce an original and imaginative event or series of events.
