About our degree transfer programme
Our flagship LLB is at the heart of our course portfolio, enabling students to study Law modules which are of vital interest in the modern world. This course has been structured to provide flexibility and choice.
This degree transfer programme has been designed to provide students with an excellent foundation in Law, developing the students key intellectual, practical, and legal skills required for successful employment.
The degree offers a one year and two year route. If you select the two year route you will join us for your second and final year. Alternatively you can select the one year route and join us for the final year of your studies.

To ensure that you settle into the transfer programme, NTU hosts a range of events during induction week. These help give you the opportunity to meet fellow members of the transfer programme. We also offer a range of short courses to help your transition into UK higher education.

Course information
We offer students the flexibility to gain a degree that is qualifying for the UK and Malaysia, or if you do not want to take EU law, you can take an extra optional module instead, one that is qualifying just for Malaysia.

Course assessment
Each module is delivered through a series of lectures and seminars that provide an opportunity to enhance your understanding of Law. You will also make use of eLearning activities and focus on project work. The application of your legal knowledge will develop as the course progresses.
Your performance will be assessed through a diverse range of methods that reflect your skills. You will take part in exercises that include:
- oral presentations
- mooting exercises
- case analysis
- research projects
- group projects
- problem-solving assignments
- both seen and unseen examinations.

To apply for our degree transfer programme, please complete the appropriate form below.
Please note that the links provided apply only to LLB Transfer (UK Degree Transfer) applicants. For all other courses, including the Barristers Training Course, please use the NTU Applications portal.

Please read our guidance notes for assistance when completing the form.
You will need to achieve a minimum of 50 points to be eligible for the transfer programme. You will need to demonstrate that you have sufficient knowledge of written and spoken English before starting the course. We usually require one of the following:
- IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill;
- UCLES GCE O Level (GCE-O) 1119 English language (awarded in 2020 or earlier) – Grade C.
If your qualification was awarded after 2020, please contact us for further info. - an equivalent English language qualification.
Fee for 2026/27 entry is £17,950.

We offer the following discount schemes to students on our courses.
Tuition fee discount:
£4,000 automatic discount, making your course fee £13,950.
NLS Alumni Discount
- For September 2025 entry, we’re happy to be able to offer a 20% discount to most current NTU students and recent alumni progressing to any academic Master’s course.
- For most Professional Courses, including the BTC, starting in September 2025, we are pleased to be able to offer to eligible alumni a £1,000 tuition fee reduction*.
