I got to appreciate the course better when I studied some areas of law and came to the realisation that law is so much more. It is a lifestyle because it intersects with all areas of human endeavours.

More about Oluwaseun

Why did you choose NTU and Nottingham Law School?

I wanted to study General Law and still be able to pick modules that are commercial law inclined, NTU and Nottingham Law School offered me this possibility. My research also showed that NTU was well positioned for the course and the University seem to be a top choice amongst international students.

Why did you choose postgraduate study at NTU?

It was important to me that I received some financial aid to enable me undertake my LLM in the UK. NTU made my dream of undertaking an LLM in the UK possible when it offered me a 50% tuition waiver/scholarship. Without this I probably would not have been able to undertake my LLM.

What inspired you to study law?

Like many other people, I got interested in law because I saw it as a tool for protecting human rights and ensuring balance in society. However, I got to appreciate the course better when I studied some areas of law and came to the realisation that law is so much more. It is a lifestyle because it intersects with all areas of human endeavours.

What do you enjoy about your course?

I enjoy the teaching style. I liked the fact that the seminars allowed for critical thinking and analysis of issues without fear of being wrong.

What marks out of 10 would you give for course facilities and why?

I would give it a 10. There was nothing I needed to excel in my course that NTU did not provide.

How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words  or fewer?

NTU has top notch educational facilities and a welcoming environment. One of my favourite things about NTU are the many study spaces, lounges and extended library. I think it is probably my favourite thing about NTU.

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Peaceful, accommodating, fun.

Where would you recommend visiting in Nottingham?

Wollaton Park during Christmas.

If you have a (non-academic) problem. Who would you talk to? What would you do?

I would talk to my friend about it and relax.

Finally, is there anything else you’d like to share?

My lecturers were courteous and helpful. Their readiness to listen and encouragement to critically express myself has made me a bolder and better person. The critical analysis which forms the bedrock of our assessments has taught me to question everything and not just accept things as they are.

I have no regret whatsoever about my decision to study at NTU.
