The University will be delivering Santander’s Digital and Technology Solutions Degree programme from October for new apprentices joining the company while also looking at other future schemes in 2020.

NTU has had a partnership with Santander Universities since 2012. This division of the bank focuses on Santander’s commitment to higher education through partnerships with over 1,200 universities around the world and has provided NTU with support which has so far benefitted over 1,000 students from the University in a variety of areas, including accessibility to education, employability and entrepreneurship.

Professor Edward Peck, Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University said: “Our apprenticeship offer at NTU is going from strength to strength and we have more than 500 apprentices with us currently. We are delighted to be able to build on this and become the official apprenticeships partner of Santander. We greatly value our existing relationship with Santander Universities, which has benefited students and graduates, and now look forward to welcoming their apprentices to our campuses.”

NTU was selected following a rigorous tender process.

Vicky Wallis, Chief HR Officer of Santander said: “At Santander, we recognise that apprenticeships offer people an alternative route into a banking career other than the traditional graduate path. This helps attract talent from all walks of life and ensures the financial services sector as a whole better reflects the communities we serve.  We are delighted to be broadening our partnership with Nottingham Trent University to offer inspiring learning whilst developing critical digital skills across the bank.”
